Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation

Through the generosity of our donors, the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation makes various scholarships available each year and we invite area students to apply.

Students will have until Friday, March 14th to submit their applications.

Students will need to complete the main GACTC Scholarship Application as well as the individual applications for scholarships listed below.

OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPS

To apply for outside scholarships, you must apply to each separately and mail or drop off the application.

Career-Based Scholarships

  • Harbor Freight Tools for Schools – The annual Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence® awards $1.5 million to 25 outstanding U.S. public high school skilled trades teachers and their programs. The prize recognizes outstanding instruction in the skilled trades and the valuable work of teachers who inspire students to learn a trade that prepares them for life after graduation.
  • National Technical Honor Society – It is our belief that CTE students must be supported and encouraged to seek higher education in today’s highly competitive global community. Aware of the increasing cost to attend post-secondary schools, NTHS is dedicated to providing scholarships to career and technical education students who choose a skilled trade as their career.   • SEMA Scholarship Program – The SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund supports career development and access to the automotive industry by offering financial awards of up to $5,000 to help foster the next generation of industry leaders and innovators. In addition to financial assistance, scholarship winners have the opportunity to attend the SEMA Show, providing unparalleled exposure to the industry’s workforce, as well as networking opportunities.
  • WyoTech – WyoTech is a private for-profit institution located in Laramie, WY. The school has approximately 585 undergraduate students. The school offers students degree opportunities.
  • Steve Johnson Racing – BAT-man scholarships have been awarded in Wyoming, Texas, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, but this particular presentation really hits home because Steve Johnson Racing is headquartered just down the road in Irondale, Alabama. Lawson State is the only community college in the State of Alabama to offer manufacturer specific career programs with Ford, Toyota, and General Motors. While earning their certifications, students rotate between on-campus instruction and paid on-the-job work through sponsoring dealerships.
  • Garage Gurus – Addressing the technician shortage and skills gap facing the industry is at the core of what the Garage Gurus do, and to support this mission, we’re offer our Technician Scholarship: now entering its 10th year! This scholarship is designed to help support the next generation of technicians – whether they’re a high school looking to get started, or a student whose returning to school to learn new skills and entering an exciting field: either way, this scholarship helps them open doors! Since the scholarship program launched in 2015, the Gurus have provided 108 students with over $270K in scholarships!Apply online now! We are proud to announce our partnership with University of the Aftermarket Foundation. Our application process is now entirely digital, click below to apply.
  • Automotive Aftermarket – The University of the Aftermarket Foundation and more than 30 additional organizations award automotive scholarships through a single, online portal at automotivescholarships.com. The foundation and partners award more than 330 awards for more than $480,000 annually. The application process is open mid-Fall through April.
  • Collision Repair Education Foundation – CREF has been at the forefront of supporting collision repair schools and students across the United States, awarding over $9.1 million in scholarships and grants since 2009. We provide this support by partnering up with industry entities like repair shops, educators, manufacturers, insurers, suppliers, and other supportive businesses and organizations.
  • The Jessi Combs Foundation – The Jessi Combs Foundation was founded in 2019. The mission of the foundation is to educate, inspire and empower the next generation of female trailblazers & stereotype-breakers. The guiding principle is the simple question “What Would Jessi Do?”
  • TechForceScholarships are open year-round. TechForce will award $6 million in need-based scholarships in 2025. Discover funding opportunities for your technical career. Students need only to complete one general application to be considered for hundreds of awards!
  • Noregon Education Program – Noregon’s Education Program Scholarships are available to students enrolled in an Education Program member school as part of their diesel technician program. If your school is not yet part of Noregon’s Education Program, contact your instructor and ask them to enroll for free.
