The GACTC Practical Nursing program achieved a 100% pass rate of its August 2024 graduates. Thirty-six graduates completed the national licensure exam (NCLEX-PN) after graduation on August 15, 2024, and all passed the licensure exam. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are in-demand in our region and can work in a variety of healthcare delivery settings.
The GACTC Practical Nursing program is approved by the State Board of Nursing. The current NCLEX-PN pass rate of the GACTC Practical Nursing program is well above the required pass rate for practical nursing programs in Pennsylvania per state law, which requires an 80% NCLEX-PN pass rate.
“We are incredibly proud of these graduates for passing the licensure exam on their first attempt. This success speaks to their dedication and the commitment of our faculty and staff to deliver high-quality, hands-on training that prepares our graduates to meet the demands of the healthcare field,” remarked Julie Patosky, GACTC Continuing Education Coordinator.
Graduates of the GACTC Practical Nursing program also obtain IV Therapy Certification.
Eight-six students are currently enrolled in the practical nursing program, in which students began in the full-time program in August 2024, and the part-time program in September 2024. The GACTC is accepting applications for its next session of the full-time program, which will begin in August 2025.
The GACTC Practical Nursing program has served the region since 1970. The program is under the direction of Lisa Urban, RN, MSN. For more information about our practical nursing program, please visit www.gactc.edu or call (814) 941-8324.
