Adult students in healthcare fields graduate from the GACTC on August 4
Thirteen adult students graduated from the Medical Assistant, Medical Office Specialist, and Expanded Function Dental Assistant diploma programs at the Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center (GACTC) on August 4. The students earned more than $114,000 in grant funding to complete their programs. Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center adult & high school welding students earn American Welding Society certifications
Students in the welding high school and adult programs at the Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center (GACTC) completed testing in May 2022 for several American Welding Society (AWS) certifications. GACTC students in the high school and adult welding program had the opportunity to achieve three certifications from AWS including GMAW 2G, SMAW 3G, and FCAW 3G. We invite applicants for the Practical Nursing program to join us for a study skills and test taking strategies workshop to prepare for the TEAS entrance exam necessary for the Practical Nursing program. Health Career Fair held for adult Health Sciences students and alumni
On June 16th, a health career fair was held at the GACTC for current adult health sciences students and alumni. Over 30 employers attended to promote their organization's open positions! GACTC students have been preparing references, resumes, cover letters, and growing their professionalism skills, which they were able to put to good use at the career fair. Adult students complete career training programs in May 2022
In May, the GACTC celebrated the accomplishments of 46 postsecondary students that successfully completed career-training programs ranging from automotive technology to welding. We recognized students graduating from the following diploma programs: Automotive Diesel Automotive Technology Carpentry/Construction Computer & Networking Technology Electrical Trades Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Outdoor Power Equipment Technology Welding with Print Reading Collectively, our 46 graduates: Completed more than 41,400 training hours in these programs!
