The Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center (GACTC) became aware of allegations related to Executive Director, Eric Palmer, on November 8, 2024. The GACTC takes the allegations seriously and took appropriate action in the interim. The GACTC will fully cooperate with any investigation. Mrs. Nicole Zernick will be serving as Interim Executive Director.

GACTC celebrates graduates from Medical Assistant diploma program

The GACTC celebrated the accomplishments of seven postsecondary students that will complete the medical assistant diploma program at the end of November with a graduation ceremony on November 7th.  After completion of the 240-hour clinical externship with a local medical facility, they will complete all program requirements. Success in Licensure: GACTC Practical Nursing Program Graduates Achieve 100% NCLEX-PN Pass Rate

The GACTC Practical Nursing program achieved a 100% pass rate of its August 2024 graduates. Thirty-six graduates completed the national licensure exam (NCLEX-PN) after graduation on August 15, 2024, and all passed the licensure exam. Articulation Agreement creates a path for GACTC students into Saint Francis University Associate of Applied Science

Saint Francis University and the Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center (GACTC) recently implemented a new articulation agreement that will allow GACTC high school and postsecondary students to move seamlessly several of the center's programs into the online Associate of Applied Science in Specialized Studies offered through Saint Francis University's Division of Professional Studies. Celebrating the 2024 Practical Nursing Graduates

The GACTC graduated 36 students from the full- and part-time Practical Nursing programs on August 15, 2024. Graduation activities included a pinning ceremony on August 13th and commencement, held on August 15th, at the Altoona Area High School.
