The Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment as HVAC technicians.

Within the curriculum, students gain fundamental knowledge, and hands-on experience with:

  • air conditioning
  • electrical and automated controls practices
  • reading schematics
  • electrical controls
  • building circuits
  • working with chemicals
  • piping practices
  • commercial refrigeration
  • heating systems, including types of furnaces
  • oil and gas boilers
  • efficiency testing
  • energy management
  • safety practices

Additional training is provided in related plumbing, related electrical, and installation operations. Students participate in a print reading and related math course. Students are trained to install, troubleshoot, and service HVAC equipment. The program emphasizes the importance of good workmanship, professionalism, and work ethic.

Following successful completion of this diploma program, students may pursue employment as HVAC Technicians to work in residential or commercial settings, including homes, schools, hospitals, office buildings, or factories.

  • EPA 608 certification
  • North American Technician Excellence (NATE) CORE Certification
  • OSHA 10-hour certification
  • Telehandler/Mobile Elevated Work Platform Certification

Estimated Tuition & Fees for 2024-2025:
$14,310.00

*Includes an optional laptop. If laptop is not needed through the GACTC, the cost of the laptop is deducted from the fees. Please see the program flyer to view detailed tuition and fees.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, this program is approved through the Eligible Training Providers List. Students enrolled in this program may be eligible for financial assistance through their local CareerLink office. Please contact your local CareerLink office for assistance.
