(Altoona, PA): Thirty-Three GACTC students medaled in the recent SkillsUSA District Competition, which was held at the Blair County Convention Center, Stuckey’s Automotive, Carpenter’s Union, GACTC, Allegheny Trucking and Roundhouse.

SkillsUSA is a career and technical student organization serving more than 413,000 members every year enrolled in trade, technical, and skilled service training programs across the country.

“SkillsUSA District competitors exemplify dedication and hard work in their pursuit of excellence. These individuals showcase a commitment to honing their skills and talents within their respective fields, often putting in countless hours of practice and preparation. The journey for these competitors begins with a passion for their chosen craft, whether it be in areas such as technology, trades, or leadership. They invest time and effort to master the necessary skills, pushing themselves beyond their limits to achieve proficiency.” Pam Kenawell explains, one of GACTC’s SkillsUSA Advisor.

Gold medalists and Straight to State competitors will advance to the state competition in Hershey, PA which is set for April 2-4, 2025.
